Deflated

Another day
Good morning sunshine
Let the day begin...

Filled with the energy
of enthusiasm
Like a helium balloon
ready for release

Up, up, and away
Until a tiny puncture
for the energy to escape

A pinhole
Then another
And another

And slowly
the balloon deflates

Today I Pray...

...please stay with me today.

Help me keep the energy
and attitude
of the new dawn

Help me to be an encourager
One who brings life
One who raises people up

And help me to hold my own
If the balloon begins
to deflate

In Every Moment

We all have our moments...

...the split second
when our world
somehow changes

Sometimes it changes
for the better

Sometimes
for the worse

But we all have those moments

The moment...

...when we first let our voice be heard
...or learn to ride a bike

...when we say, "I do"
...or hear our newborn baby's cry

The moment...

...when we are laughed at
...or fall off that bike

...when our heart stops because
the phone rings in the middle of the night

...or we realize
that somehow we cheated disaster

The moments...

...when we stand tall
...our eyes welled up
with tears of joy and pride

...or fall to our knees
...and weep in sorrow

Good or bad,
In every moment...

I know You are there

You are the one
who lifts me up
yet keeps me grounded

You are the one
who reminds me to breathe
and helps me get back on my feet

You are the one
who is there
....in every moment

Help me to see
the blessings
that surround me

And find comfort
in Your presence

the very best

Be A Difference Maker

There is a story that I love about a man and his son walking along the shore. As they walk they discover hundreds and hundreds of starfish have been washed up on the beach. With each step, the boy picks up a starfish and throws it back into the sea.

The man sees the boy's actions and says, "What are you doing? There are thousands of starfish along the shore, you will never save them all -- it can't possibly make a difference."

The boy bent down and picked up another starfish, and tossed it gently beyond the breaking waves, then looked up at his father with innocent eyes and wisdom beyond his years, and simply said, "It made a difference to that one."

...that I choose my words and actions wisely

Ever aware that...
...every word
...every gesture
...every moment

...can make a difference.

A Moment

Today I Pray...
...that I never the forget the impact of a moment.

In a single moment...

You can you frown,
or smile and make some one's day a little brighter.

You can look down at the ground,
or raise your head and take in the beauty that surrounds you.

You can raise your hand in anger,
or reach out and give someone a hug.

You can break some one's spirit by putting them down,
or encourage them to move in the direction of their dreams.

You can thank God for your blessings,
or you can say nothing at all.

Optimism

Today I Pray...

...for the energy that comes from a positive attitude.

When others see the glass as half empty...

...Help me to see it as half full.

When others say "That's can't be done."

...Give me the confidence to say, "I believe it can..."

When other's give up...

...Give me the fortitude to stay and make it so.

Help me too,

...to remember the feeling of going it alone.

Help me to remember...

...to support, encourage, and assist where I can.

...to give others the boost they need

to move in the direction of their dreams.

Nothing is impossible with You.

It is in believing and trusting this...

...that I find comfort, joy and peace.

What a View

The view from my window is breathtaking.
An artist's palette rich with the colors of spring.
Budding trees show pink and white blossoms,
And pale yellow and green leaves
beginning to camouflage the deep brown bark of the trees.
Vibrant green grass speckled with white, yellow and purple
Canopied by a sky that's streaked with white, blue, pink, orange and grey.

The view from my window is a blessing.
Another day.
A fresh start.
No boundaries.

Today I pray that I make the most of this blessing.

Live life to the fullest.
And with each breath ....Make a difference.

Encouragement

Today I pray...

...that I see all the good in people.

...that I remember to give praise and recognition generously.

...that encouraging words flow freely from my lips.

...that my thoughts and attitude stay positive and focused on doing His work.

...that someone reads this and shouts "Amen!"

A little bit of encouragement can make even the most down-trodden heart soar. ~me

Courage

...praying hard for the courage to move forward even when people are telling me my dreams are too big.

...praying for the humility to acknowledge that they may be right, but will never know unless I try.

...praying for the persistence to never give up, and keep striving to realize the potential with which I have been blessed.

...please don't leave me walking alone. Without You I am nothing. With You anything is possible.

Help me remember that You haven't merely given me permission -- but You are calling on me to shine.

Speak to Me. Speak to You

Today I pray...

...that I know when to speak and when to close my mouth and listen.

...that when I listen, my ears are open to truly hear.

...that I keep my eyes open so that I might see and hear what words cannot say.

...and that when I speak, I choose my words wisely, so that they are kind, true and reflect Your love.

Remember

I think sometimes in the rush of every day life, we lose sight of what really matters in life. So I thought I'd take a moment to share some simple reminders.

Remember the only one responsible for your happiness is you. It's a decision you make every minute of every day, and every day of your life

Remember that no matter what people say, you will never get where you want to, unless you start moving in the direction of your dreams.

When you're faced with a difficult decision that challenges your values -- remember to make choices you would be proud to share with your kids -- or your mother.

When you make a mistake, remember you are human and forgive yourself.
When someone lets you down, remember they are human too.

And most importantly of all -- Remember that God is walking with you ever step of the way -- whether you ask him to be there or not. So since He's with you, there's no sense walking in silence. Pray.
